Smart Classroom

The Government of India, Ministry of HRD, under a new initiative has announced that all existing schemes such as Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) and Teacher Education (TE) are subsumed into the “The Samagra Shiksha – An Integrated Scheme on School Education”.

The main emphasis of the Scheme is on improving quality of school education by focussing on the two T’s – Teacher and Technology. The strategy for all interventions under the Scheme would be to enhance the Learning Outcomes at all levels of schooling. One such intervention under this scheme is “Digital Initiatives”.

Digital learning is replacing traditional educational methods more and more each day. With how rapidly classrooms are changing, more and more educationists across the world and in India are beginning to start thinking about newer teaching and learning techniques based on digital learning tools and technologies. Digital learning tools and technology fill the gaps where traditional classroom teaching falls behind. In fact, some of the efficiencies such tools bring are simply unmatchable by traditional learning techniques. From the environmental impact recognized by the need for less paper for handouts and books to saving time with quick access to information and the ease of research, digital learning provides an effective way to cut costs, maximize resources and heighten both reach and impact for students and educators alike. Under the SSA, the following are the salient features for Digital Education: –

  • Support ‘Operation Digital Board’ in all secondary schools over a period of 5 years, which will revolutionize education- easy to understand, technology-based learning classrooms will become flipped classrooms.
  • Enhanced use of digital technology in education through smart classrooms, digital boards and DTH channels
  • Digital initiatives like UDISE+, Shagun, to be strengthened
  • Strengthening of ICT infrastructure in schools from upper primary to higher secondary level.

To support this initiative of the Govt, We have developed solutions around “Smart Classrooms”. The primary components include Hardware, Software and connectivity. Our Smart classroom hardware comprises of an Android based interactive LED touch panel typically of 65” that has a built-in OPS computer that can run Windows 10 desktop. The educational Content is installed on the integrated hard disk on the OPS and is refreshed through the Internet. The Touch Panel supports all forms of collaboration including the popular Video Conferencing tools like Skype, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, Webex etc. The integrated Camera and sound system present life-like classroom experience to students who may be watching their teachers remotely. The 10-point interactive touch panel enables students to interact while the class is in session.
